Ode to a Coffee Bean #NationalCoffeeDay

Here’s one of my old favourites for #NationalCoffeeDay

Ode to a Coffee Bean

Coffee bean I love you
Little bean
You are a devil of a beast

You keep me up at night
You feisty black beauty
But oh how I love you best in the mornings
My gratitude unbounded
Coffee o’clock
Is bliss

You make my heart skip
Funny beats
But I will have you anyway
It is but part of your charm
Or so I tell myself

I could stop any time I like
I just enjoy it
Honest
You and and your sweet deadly white friend
Seduce
But I’m in control
I am

Don’t mistake my brain fog for stupidity #poem

Don’t mistake my brain fog for stupidity,
my forgetfulness for disinterest,
my frustration for neurosis.

Don’t mistake my disability for incapacity,
my old age for infancy,
my good manners for acceptance,

of your ignorance.
